Swedish test

At first you start in Beginners class (NKL). When you got your first price in that class you can start in Open class (ÖKL).

In Open class you need two first prices to be qualified for elit class (EKL).

In all classes the dogs work with cold game of many different kinds and also rabbits.

In ÖKL two dogs are working together and in EKL there are 2-4 dogs at the same time. They work for about one hour.

We have a free search where the dogs should find between 12-20 games all by themselves, the handler are not allowed to support the dog. The area is about 10 000 square meters and it could be in the woods, partly in water (reeds) or in a heavy field.

There are two directions, one on land and one in the water, both about 100 m. In the water they must go either across a lake or if it’s a big one to an island or just into blank water.

There are triple marks both on land and in water. You mustn’t help the dog on marks.

Sometimes we also have a walk up or a narrow search.

The prices are first, second and third, where the first price is the highest, or zero (no price).

To be a Swedish trial champion you need three first prices in Elite class (EKL) and one approved test at a whole day of hunting on ducks or pheasants where you go with a judge and pick up during the day, and you are judged all the time.

We also have Field Trials, but not so many so there are not easy to become a Swedish field trial champion.
